Elizabeth “Liz” Heitman
Liz Heitman joined the Zonta Club of St. Louis in February of 1992 and never looked back. She has served as a productive member on many committees throughout the years and has served as a mentor to several WAC Scholarship recipients. Highlights include:
- Zonta Club of St. Louis President, 1997-1999
- Fashion Show Committee Chair, 2000-2001
- Literacy Committee Chair, 2006-2014
- Women’s Another Chance Co-Chair, 2011-2012
- Director – Service Committee, 2013-2014
- Zonta Club of St. Louis President, 2015-2017
- Nominating Committee, 2017-2018
- Membership/Classification Chair, 2019 – present
Liz is ALWAYS working…. I don’t think anyone will be able to get her to slow down! For many years she worked as a teacher in the Webster Groves School District and as a Supervisor of Student Teachers at UMSL. She also worked as a Facilitator and Curriculum Director for EnTeam, an organization whose mission is to encourage educators to use collaborative games that strengthen students socially and academically. Tutoring has always been a passion and she continues to tutor at a local Sylvan Learning Center.
Liz has traveled extensively throughout her life. She loves going to the theatre and symphony, playing bridge, and going out to dinner. I must say that Liz enjoys entertaining as well. She hosted the Zonta Christmas Party for several years at her home. She is an excellent hostess and her home was always beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday. She even prepared dinner for board meetings in her home while she was President!
Liz, Thank you for your continued service. You are truly a valued club member!
